Audits and Assessments

FoCoSS Forensics offers consultation for accreditation preparation for Forensic Laboratories and Crime Scene Units.  Our staff is knowledgeable with the guidelines set forth by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), the American Society of Crime Lab Directors-Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD-LAB), the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025.  If your agency is considering accreditation, we can help by conducting either an audit or an assessment of your unit or laboratory.

During our evaluation, we can conduct off-site review of current policies and protocols, as well as completed casework.  We can also perform an on-site visit to inspect facility setup, security and infrastructure, as well as interview staff if necessary.  Our findings would be detailed in a report which will provide you a roadmap to success.
